We have come forward to crowdfunding with a clear goal of what we need to bring Sprint to the top possible quality and we wish to be crystal clear to all potential backers on why we are here in crowdfunding and how are we going to allocate the raised funds.
Our top and foremost priority is using the funds to create music and sound effects for the game. Because Project Sprint is just a small team of two programmers and artists, none of us have the appropriate skill sets to develop sounds for the game. Therefore, we’ve decided to approach crowdfunding platform to seek backers for this project.
What we need for the game is 15 pieces of soundtracks and 50 pieces of sound effects.
We have discussed among ourselves and have decided that we will set the initial funding goal to a minimum of USD$5000. We believe the goal will allow us to commission sounds for the game while still enabling us to allocate a small portion into scouting freelance artists to speed up the progress of the game, instead of just us working on the project.
Please check out the Funding Allocation Pie Chart for a visual breakdown of the initial funding goal.

Curious about Sprint? We’ve got you covered with our demo! Inside our playable demo, you will play the first stage and fight the first boss with an addition of a short tutorial stage beforehand.
This won’t take long! Just 10-15 minutes of your time!
We at MJS Level One Entertainment hope that you will enjoy this demo and support our quest to complete the game! Thank you for trying!

If you have played the demo, you should have realize that at the current state of the game, there are no sounds of Sprint’s dashing or delightful tracks of music. It’s really unfortunate that as of time of writing, we have no sound on Project Sprint to showcase for. Everything now is at it’s planning phase. We are still considering whether to go all out classic 16-bit music or mix in with a more modern feel of 32-bit or 64-bit music. What are your thoughts on this?
We’ve had offers ranging from USD$15 to USD$100 per soundtrack. We have not approached any of them yet and have no sample point for any reference.
With the funds from all of you, dedicated backers, we will be able to shape Project Sprint into the game that we visualized, with minimal restrictions.

- Sprint will be developed for the PC platform with future plans for a mobile LITE version on iOS and Android.
- There will be no microtransactions in the game, everything is as it is inside the game. Straight forward classic good versus evil theme.
- Ultimately we are building our first intellectual property (IP) and flagship title for our startup company.
- Sprint is bring developed at its basic form of a 2D runner game with many unique characters to interact with throughout the game. With more resources, we are hoping that we can spend more time on the game fleshing out the levels, turning a simple 2D runner game, into a 2D action adventure game.
- We would like to think of Sprint as the kind of game we grew up with, playing with friends in the living room while we were younger.
- ‘Sprint’ is the name of the protagonist of this game.
- Sprint’s game design is primarily focused on the thrill of discovery. We want players to get the fun out of the game through discovering areas, how the world in Sprint works, how each animal support works, what you can do with the acquired attack gemstones and discovering hidden items/secrets in each area.
The world affairs in Sprint are designed to be an extension of the issues that our world face.
Think of it as ‘What will our world be like if problems remains unresolved?’. We’re designing them in a more fictional approach backed by proven theories, sort of like an exaggeration of our world, e.g. String Theory could have finally unified all the forces. Humans may have unlocked the secrets of dark energy/dark matter.
Perhaps dark energy is the key to entering other parallel universes, or maybe something simpler like, dark energy could link thoughts between humans and animals and humans now have a deeper understanding of what our actual role in this universe is.
What would have happened if an asteroid came in contact with earth, causing a deep crack on the surface of earth all the way down into the center of the earth, or perhaps, because of human’s greed, over-logging have caused the Amazon rain forest to be a barren wasteland now known as the Amazon Desert.
These are the few examples of designs we wish to have fun incorporating them into the world of Sprint.

GIG, acronym for ‘Global Initiative for Gaea’, is a fictional Non-Governmental Organization in Sprint. GIG serves as a front line defense for Mother Earth and aims to put the interest of mother nature above all else.
The organization is headed by Captain Gaea, a title awarded to the top most position inside the organization. GIG is a big organization and comprise of several sectors, each with their own unit functionality and operation. There are currently 3 known sectors introduced in the game, with 1 more additional sector to be named as “Hall of Backers” for our backers.

Sector 01 : Global Initiative for Gaea’s Briefing Hall
This is the briefing hall where Captain Gaea commands.
Gameplay wise,
- This is where players receive level information and choose to explore each level as they wish depending on their availability.
- Players interact with Captain Gaea in this sector.

Sector 02 : The Substitute Energy Research Facility
This is the Substitute Energy Research Facility. This unit focuses on researching and developing alternate energy resources in the world of Sprint as an alternate source for non-renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission energy.
Occasionally, energy gemstones are found in Sprint’s world, which contains recorded energy patterns from natural occurrence over the span of millions of years. These recorded energy patterns can be developed into attack gemstones controllable only by animals in Sprint’s world.
Gameplay wise,
- This is where players view and gain information on attack gemstones obtained in game.
- Players save their game progress here.
- Players interact with Professor Mars Faraday in this sector.

Sector 03 : Venus Veterinary Haven
This is the Venus Veterinary Haven. This unit serves as a sanctuary for endangered, threatened or injured animals in Sprint.
Gameplay wise,
- This is where players manage their animal supports saved in game.
- Players can set these animal’s attack pattern using attack gemstones obtained in game.
- Players spend time with these animals here to increase their affinity. As their affinity increases, their attack duration and cool-down improves as well, maybe even unlocking hidden skills sealed away inside their heredity gene *hint* *hint*.
- Animal’s affinity level can be viewed here.
- Players interact with Doctor Venus Clerk Maxwell in this sector.

Sector 04 : Hall of Backers
The Hall of Backers sector will be designed when funding campaign turns out to be a success, fingers crossed.
Gameplay wise,
- This is where players will meet project backer NPCs from tier USD$100 and above.
- Players interact with all project backer NPCs from tier USD$100 and above.
Here’s a brief, spoiler-free overview of the characters and animals in Sprint. We don’t want to give too much details away because we feel it’ll cooler to meet these characters in the game itself.

- Sprint is a 2D side scroller action platformer, inspired by timeless classic 2D pixel platformer games.
- Sprint will be primarily developed at its basic form of runner gameplay, with solid plans to carry it even further from it’s basic form.
- Players will move from one end to another while battling enemies, collecting pickups, and solving puzzles.
- Sprint’s initial plan for PC version uses mouse controls to control the characters and supports.
- We will be incorporating W-A-S-D controls for Sprint if we can hit our proposed stretch goal.
- There are a total of 6 planned levels (+2 more final boss fight levels) to explore. At the end of each level, players will fight a boss. These bosses are being controlled by the game’s main antagonist, Dr.Z. Players must save the boss from Dr.Z. After defeating each bosses, they are liberated from Dr.Z and will join you in your subsequent battle against Dr.Z.
- There are a total of 5 different bosses (excluding secret bosses), each with their own unique attacking abilities to acquire before the final showdown with Dr.Z.
- You will obtain attack gemstones during your adventure. These gemstones grant your animal supports with special unique abilities.
- Here’s a few screenshots on how the game feels.

Our team consists of 2 passionate independent developers where both of us have full-time jobs and families. We alternate between task and jobs accordingly base on our available time slots. We do all the programming and art works ourselves. We’re hoping that in the near future, we will have funds to approach freelancers to aid Sprint’s development process.

Funding Allocation Pie Chart for initial goal of USD$5000

Check out the list of stretch goal we made . We hope all of you will like what we have planned for each stretch mark.

The Complimentary Backer Game Box will be available for pledge tier USD$250 [Collector Sprinter] and above.
We will include a printed copy of “Sprint : The Game, World Manual” inside the game box, with an optional choice of upgrading your pledge tier to USD$400 [Premium Collector Sprinter] and receive an additional custom laser-printed USB containing the game, game art, sketches and unreleased art.

First glance at a digital prototype of “Sprint : The Game, World Manual”. This is still in work-in-progress stage and does not represent the final product yet.

The team at Sprint is dedicated to the completion of this project – As you can see, most of the funds are being placed towards sound and art. We have also minimized the risks towards our backers by absorbing most of Sprint’s costs and leaving the bare minimum to finish our game as the funding goal.
The two of us working on Sprint also have had previous experience developing apps and games.
Last but not least, we wish to thank the GameKicker team for this amazing platform allowing us small time indie developers to showcase our work and also potential backers for dedicating your precious time to check out this GameKicker Campaign.

UPDATE #07 – The Epic Journey Begins!
Greetings fellow SPRINTERS and SUPPORTERS,
With less than 1 week to go on our crowdfunding campaign on Gamekicker, it is clear that we will not be able to reach our funding goal of USD$5000. We gave a lot of thought into this and have decided to cancel the funding campaign. We did what we can in the past weeks with everything we’ve got and it is safe to say that this is the best course of action.
Of course we did not came out empty-handed from this awesome experience! Along the way we’ve met some really really amazing people including Youtubers, supporters and fans alike, added a few ‘firsts’ experience into our list and learnt tonnes of knowledge especially from the guys at Gamekicker.
As to what our future plan is for SPRINT, we can’t announce anything for certain right now. There are a few available course of action suggested to us and we will be monitoring them as we go and make an announcement once we get a concrete action point.
One thing for certain is that we can absolutely assure everyone, ourselves included, that we are committed more than ever to make Project SPRINT a reality right now. The team is small, and we have decided to divert all available resources back into development.
As for the whole reason why we are running this crowdfunding campaign in the first place, it still remains as our biggest challenge right now, which is developing sound for Project SPRINT. However, not all hopes are lost, because during the campaign, we met a very down-to-earth music composer who wishes to be a part of Project SPRINT. We can’t say for certain how it will turn out for now, but we will definitely keep an open mind.
All in all, it was a super duper great adventure for us here and we would like to personally thank the awesome guys at Gamekicker for their tremendous support and encouragement and to EVERY kind souls who have helped us during this campaign.
Be sure to follow us on our dedicated social media channels on all development updates, screenshots and work-in-progress works. Drop us a message if there’s anything you wish to know about Project SPRINT and we will be available to help out.
